Volunteers

FilmChelt, Cheltenham’s annual Film Festival, is looking for volunteers for this year’s festival which runs 30 October to 8 November 2026, and for our year-round cinema events.

We will provide some short training sessions and give you a chance to get to know your colleagues in October.

Volunteers

It is fair to say we would be lost without the support of our volunteers, who are the friendly and helpful face of the festival. So, are you looking for an opportunity to gain experience, rub shoulders with filmmakers, festival organisers and film industry experts… or simply have a good time by supporting a growing and vibrant cultural event in Cheltenham?

What You’ll Do:

Volunteering jobs really do vary but these can be great fun and are a wonderful way to meet like-minded individuals. Typical activities include:

  • Distributing flyers and posters
  • Social media posting
  • Box office assistance
  • Event management – helping to set up spaces and rooms for screenings, Q&A’s and other events
  • Ticket scanning and cinema ushering
  • Information desk – supporting ticket and pass holders and answering any questions they might have about the festival
  • Guest assistance

Why Get Involved?

  • Gain invaluable, behind the scenes experience in running a film festival
  • Receive a free festival pass to see films at Cheltenham Film Festival 2026.
  • Join a community of film lovers and industry professionals.
  • Meet other film fans from across the area

This is an unpaid volunteer role. You will need to be available to work a minimum of five, four hour shifts from Friday 30 October – Sunday 8 November.

  • Volunteers must be aged 18 or older.
  • You also need to be local to the event as we cannot provide accommodation or travel.
  • Enthusiastic and eager to be part of a growing Film Festival in Cheltenham

What we need from you:

  • A friendly persona
  • Reliability
  • Good initiative
  • An interest in film
  • Fluent English

We will provide some short training sessions and give you a chance to get to know your colleagues in October.
