Indian superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan, star in this lavish melodrama which is based on a classic of Indian literature often referred to as the Hindi Romeo & Juliet.  Devdas Mukherjee returns home to Bengal, hoping to marry Paro, his childhood love. But class divides and family pride shatter their plans. As Paro is married off to another, Devdas spirals into alcoholism and finds solace in a courtesan whose compassion cannot save him.

With costumes and set design so sumptuous you could almost eat them, fantastic songs and spectacular choreography, Devdas will sweep you off your feet!  If you’ve never seen a Bollywood film before, this is a great place to start.

In true Bollywood style, this epic film will be shown with a short interval. A selection of Indian appetisers will be served, courtesy of the Vale Hotel in Cricklade.
