PILLION

Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård ride the line between discipline and deadpan in this leather clad love story.

Colin is a socially awkward young man living with his terminally ill mother in suburban England. When he’s picked up—literally—by Ray, the charismatic leader of a biker gang, Colin tumbles into a full-time BDSM relationship that’s equal parts domestic servitude and emotional confusion. He cooks, cleans, obeys, and sleeps on the floor. But beneath the leather and discipline lies something unexpectedly tender.

Adapted from Adam Mars-Jones’s Box Hill, Pillion is a deadpan, quietly subversive love story that balances psychological intensity with moments of wry humour. Melling, previously best known as Harry Potter’s oafish cousin Dudley, is a revelation as Colin, delivering a masterclass in restraint and comic timing, while Skarsgård brings magnetic swagger and dry menace to the impossibly handsome Ray.

“Brilliant… what Fifty Shades of Grey could have been” — The Guardian

“Melling is extraordinary: vulnerable, raw, and quietly defiant” — Screen Daily

“Pillion is a love story, a power struggle, and a road movie — all wrapped in leather” — Little White Lies
